We build an emergency website!

We’re very pleased with ourselves here at PA. We were recently approached by a Community Interest Company who had a partially developed website and a fast-approaching deadline of three weeks to launch! Needless to say we rose to the challenge and were able to hit the go-live date of 19th November – in fact we did better than that and Anna and Andy attended the conference in Manchester to help the team with the launch! Youknow.org.uk is a website where you can get advice and assistance with all aspects of health and social care – there is a team of advisers who are ready to help. It provides a valuable service especially at times of crisis with issues such as mental health, mobility problems, benefits etc.

Even though the site has only been live for a couple of weeks, Jayne Knight, who had the original idea for the site, has recently been quoted in the national press in an article highlighting the poor care that some patients with learning disabilities receive in NHS hospitals and specialist assessment and treatment units (ATUs). You can read the full article here http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/dec/16/families-long-stay-units-learning-disabilities

The You Know website is going to be under constant development and it is hoped it will become the go-to resource for people who need help and advice with all aspects of health and social care. It is built in Joomla! with bespoke coding.
